    Q:
How should you replace battery cables on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Choose battery cables which have exactly the same type along with identical gauge measurement and similar length compared to the original cables. Start your replacement process by taking out the negative battery ground line from the battery then disconnect the electrical connector from the battery current sensor. Move on to disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery then unfasten the battery ground negative cable nut from the inner fender. Disconnect the battery positive cable first by removing its underhood electrical center nut and cable. Then move on to taking off the battery ground negative cable nut and cable from the transaxle stud. The starter motor BAT terminal requires removal of its nut as well as disconnection of the battery positive cable from this terminal. See all associated retainers detached from the inner fender and lower tie bar while also separating the battery ground negative and battery positive cables from the vehicle. Start the installation by attaching the negative ground and positive clip to their vehicle connections. Secure the battery cable conduit on the inner fender as well as the lower tie bar before attaching the battery positive cable and its nut at the starter motor BAT terminal with 10 N.m (89 lb in) tension. After placing the transaxle stud with the battery ground (negative) wire connect it using a 25 N.m (18 lb ft) torque value. The battery positive cable requires fastening to the underhood electrical center while tightening its nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The final step involves connecting the battery ground negative cable nut to the inner fender while tightening to 5 N.m (44 lb in). Launch the battery positive cable from the battery and tighten the battery terminal bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft) before connecting the battery current sensor electrical connector and completing with the battery ground (negative) cable installation to the battery.

    Q:
How to replace battery cables on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement cables must maintain the same specifications as the original battery cables regarding type and gauge as well as length. Start by disconnecting the negative cable that powers the battery. The procedure starts by disconnecting the instrument panel wiring harness electrical connector that is linked to the battery current sensor. Unlock the positive Battery Cable cover before unscrewing its nut while you take out the cable from its battery connection. Seamlessly remove the negative Battery Cable ground terminal nut from inner fender stud that also releases the cable from the stud. Start by removing the positive Battery Cable to junction block nut and then the instrument panel wiring harness terminal and positive Battery Cable terminal from the junction block stud after opening its cover. Start by detaching the starter motor "bat" terminal nut before removing the positive Battery Cable from the motor terminal. The radiator air baffle should also be removed during this process. The third step requires disconnecting two wire components from their respective mounts - the engine harness ground nut and terminal together with the negative Battery Cable from the transaxle stud. After removing the battery conduit retainers from both inner fender and lower tie bar a separation process should be performed for positive and negative battery cables. During reinstallation staff should combine the negative and positive battery cables to their designated spots on the vehicle. After reattaching the Battery Cable conduit retainers you should reinstall the negative Battery Cable between the transaxle stud and the engine harness ground terminal. Tighten the engine harness ground nut by 25 n.m along with the torque specification of 18 lb ft. Fasten the starter motor "bat" terminal while applying torque of 17 n.m (13 lb ft) to secure it. After installing the radiator air baffle the installer should connect the instrument panel wiring harness terminal followed by the positive Battery Cable terminal to the junction block stud. Secure the positive Battery Cable junction block nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in) then put on the junction block cover. Place the negative Battery Cable ground on the stud then secure the negative Battery Cable ground terminal nut to 5 n.m torque level (44 lb in). The installation ends with the positive Battery Cable connection to the battery followed by tightening the positive cable nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Afterward, secure the positive cable cover, complete the battery current sensor electrical connection then reconnect the negative cable.
