  • Q: How to replace the negative battery cable on 2008 Chevrolet Uplander?
    A: To remove the battery negative cable, despise the negative battery still down. However, you should then disconnect the instrument panel (I/P) wiring harness electrical connector from the battery current sensor and open the positive Battery Cable cover. Remove the positive Battery Cable nut and follow with removing the positive Battery Cable from the battery. Next, unscrew the negative Battery Cable ground terminal nut from the inner fender stud and remove the negative Battery Cable ground from the stud. Open the junction block cover and disconnect the positive Battery Cable to junction block nut. Undo the i/p wiring harness terminal and the positive Battery Cable terminal from the junction block stud . Take off the radiator air baffle, then take out the starter motor "bat" terminal nut, and the positive Battery Cable off the starter motor "bat" terminal. The removal of the engine harness ground nut and the engine harness ground terminal, as well as the negative Battery Cable from the transaxle stud. Remove Battery Cable conduit retainer from inner fender and lower tie bar and separate off negative and positive battery cables as well as remove battery current sensor. To install it, install the battery current sensor, connect negative and positive battery cables, and install to vehicle. Install the Battery Cable conduit retainers to the inner fender and the lower tie bar, then come with negative Battery Cable to the transaxle stud and the engine harness ground terminal. Install the engine harness ground nut and apply 25 n.m(18 lb ft) of tightening. Next, connect the positive Battery Cable to the starter motor "bat" terminal and tighten the starter motor "bat" terminal nut to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Next, the radiator air baffle should be installed, followed by the i/p wiring harness terminal and the positive Battery Cable terminal to the junction block stud. Insure the positive Battery Cable on junction block nut and tighten to 10 n.m (89 lb in), then close the junction block cover. Connect the negative Battery Cable ground to the stud and the negative Battery Cable ground terminal nut to the inner fender stud, tightening it to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Finally, connect the positive Battery Cable to the battery and tighten the positive Battery Cable nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft), close the positive Battery Cable cover, connect battery current sensor electrical connector and reattach negative Battery Cable.
