• Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 1 Sensor 1 in the 1500 Series on 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

  A: The starting point for replacing bank 1 sensor 1 heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) in the 1500 series requires vehicle suspension and support. When your vehicle has four-wheel drive (4WD) you must remove the front propeller shaft from the front Differential. Remove the customer programmable connector position assurance retainer then disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the ho2s for vehicles with a 4l60-e/4l70-e automatic transmission. Disengage the fuel line clip by separating its ho2s electrical connector clip, then remove the cpa retainer before detaching the engine wiring harness electrical connector clip from the fuel line clip. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the ho2s and remove the ho2s (1 or 2). While replacing or reinstalling an old sensor apply gm p/n 12377953 anti-seize compound to its threads before installing new ho2s (1 or 2). Torque both sensors to 42 n.m (31 lb ft).
