    A: The procedure to replace the left side parking brake rear cable starts with releasing the park brake and disabling the automatic adjuster of the cable. The vehicle should be supported at height before unconnecting the left rear park brake cable from its equalizer link on the intermediate park brake cable. Start the cable mounting bracket release procedure by pressing the locking tabs. This action enables you to remove the park brake cable from the rear axle housing bracket using the nut and bolt (2500 series). The park brake cable needs to be free from the frame guides with the actuator lever before its release from the backing plate through the locking tabs into full cable removal. During installation position the new cable properly through all mounting guides and body mounts and slide it to the backing plate until the locking tabs secure then attach it to the actuator lever. Mount the park brake cable to the axle bracket before tightening its bolt and nut (2500 series) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft). The cable should be directed into the guides on the vehicle frame before it is installed onto the mounting bracket until the locking points secure. Lower the vehicle then activate the automatic adjuster while you connect the left rear park brake cable to the intermediate park brake cable equalizer, finish the adjustment through necessary processes.
