2007 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: You need to remove the electric connection from the vacuum reservoir before starting work. To prepare the manual transmission system disconnect the clip between the Clutch Hose and master cylinder and plug both these elements separately. Loosen the master cylinder nuts then push the cylinder forward making room with brake lines connected and remove the booster housing seal. Unclip the vacuum hose attachment from the booster section and take off the brake lamp switch plus remove the brake pedal spring. Take off the booster and its mount from dash panel by removing first the support bracket-to-dash panel nuts then the booster and bracket assembly. Unfasten the booster bracket nuts and take out the booster with its rubber boot plus the retainer mechanism Pushrod adjustment sleeve and hex nut. Check the Pushrod and adjustment sleeve for damage as well as their correct placement before you add the hex nut and adjustment sleeve to the booster unit and tighten them to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Place the Pushrod inside the adjustment sleeve and mount the retainer while making sure the adjustment from the booster to fork bin center measures 278.5 mm (10 inches). Insert the rubber boot onto the booster and connect the provided brackets. You must fasten both booster-to-support bracket nuts at 12 n.m (9 lb ft). Fasten the booster bracket assembly to the dash panel while torquing the nuts to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Assemble the master cylinder onto the booster while also inserting a booster housing seal and tightening master cylinder nuts to 18 lbft (24Nm). Place the new vacuum hose between the booster and dohc engine and fasten it with brand new hose clamps. Complete your work by adding the Pushrod pin to the brake pedal bracket then placing back the clip and spring. Lastly, fit in the brake lamp switch.
