How to replace the intake manifold on 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Start by dismantling the air inlet resonator, throttle unit, positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube and purge solenoid hose as well as brake lines and oil indicator bolt. First disconnect the knock sensor electrical connection as you separate the Fuel Rail then remove both the knock sensor harness connector from the Intake Manifold. After removing the Intake Manifold bolts and nuts you can extract the manifold but retain the intact Intake Manifold Gasket for possible re-use. Reposition the Intake Manifold after installing a new gasket only when needed. Begin installation by putting the Intake Manifold nuts along with bolts and fastening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque. Next install the knock sensor harness connector and the knock sensor electrical connector. Secure the Fuel Rail then install the Throttle Body and oil level indicator tube bolt using 10 n.m of tightening torque (89 lb in). At the end of the process reconnect the brake booster hose, purge solenoid tube, and pcv hose then replace the Throttle Body and air cleaner outlet resonator.
