2007 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the thermostat on 2007 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: In order to replace the Thermostat drain off the cooling system and lift the vehicle enough to expose the Thermostat Housing through a wheelhouse. Remove the liner of the left wheelhouse and next use the hose clamp pliers ( J 38185 ) to remove the radiator inlet hose from the Thermostat Housing. Then, you should unscrew the Thermostat Housing bolts and take the Thermostat Housing away from the engine block. Check and clean both the Thermostat Housing and sealing surface of the engine block. Return the Thermostat Housing to the engine block and then bolt it with the bolts applying 10 n.m (89 lb in). Use the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to reconnect the radiator inlet hose to the Thermostat Housing, install the left wheelhouse liner, lower the vehicle, top up the cooling system, and finally inspect all sealing surfaces for leaks following the start-up of the engine.
