2007 Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: The first necessary step to replace the Fuel Rail assembly involves draining pressure from the fuel system. You should start by taking off the upper Intake Manifold before separating the engine fuel feed pipe from the Fuel Rail and removing both the Fuel Rail electrical harness and main Fuel Injector harness connectors. According to the procedure you must disconnect the electrical connectors of the fuel injectors, camshaft position sensor and Coolant Temperature Sensor in this order. Selen the Fuel Rail retaining bolts and pull out the entire Fuel Rail assembly . Each injector requires the o-ring seal removal unless replacement is unnecessary at the spray tip end. Install the lower Intake Manifold injector bores with the Fuel Injector nozzles that receive lubrication using gm p/n 12345616 or canadian p/n 993182. The Fuel Rail should be pressed into position until all fuel injectors establish full seating before installing and torquing Fuel Rail bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Lubricate the Fuel Injector electrical connectors according to specifications using gm p/n 12377900, (Canadian P/N 10953529) then the electrical harness attachment to the Fuel Rail. Next, connect the fuel feed pipe to the Fuel Rail and complete the reinstallation with the Camshaft Position Sensor and Coolant Temperature Sensor electrical connectors followed by the main Fuel Injector electrical harness connector. To finish the operation secure the upper Intake Manifold then hook up the negative Battery Cable while thoroughly examining for fuel leaks by engaging the ignition for two seconds then waiting 10 seconds to pass before initiating another two-second ignition check.
