The procedure to replace an evaporator core starts with HVAC module assembly removal because some screws are located below foam insulation. Continue by unfastening the screws to divide the HVAC module assembly into its two halves before splitting the assembly. The evaporator core should be carefully extracted from the HVAC module assembly before removing the seal joining the HVAC module assembly halves. Before adding the new evaporator core an appropriate amount of refrigerant oil must be added to it. Install the seal between the HVAC module assembly halves before placing the evaporator core inside the HVAC module assembly while maintaining correct positioning of the two case sections seal. Construct the HVAC module assembly by attaching its two halves with screws then tighten them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in). Perform execution of the HVAC module assembly.
