The replacement of lower rear side door latch strikers begins by taking out the side door stepwell mat first. The two bolts securing the lower striker must be removed from the stepwell before pulling off the lower striker . Place the lower striker on the vehicle so you can install the two reinforcing bolts that connect it to the stepwell and apply torque to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the side door stepwell mat as the last step of the installation procedure.
