Before replacement of the body-mounted rear door striker you must determine both its upper and lower strike positions. Begin by removing the striker screw and following it by taking out the striker. Install the striker by placing it back onto the vehicle then fasten it with the striker screw. Check that the striker and screw position matches the pre-drawn marks on the vehicle. The installation process ends by tightening the screw to 8 N.m (75 lb in) while adhering to all fastener service precautions mentioned in the notice.

The first step for replacing the cargo door striker includes removing bolts connecting the door lock striker to the opening before removing both parts. Installation of the new door lock striker should begin by positioning it into the door opening according to the provided Fastener Notice. Secure the installation of your door lock striker by fastening bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Position the lower striker back onto the vehicle and ensure to follow the fastener notice for proper installation.

Pull the trim panel forward to access the striker bolt nut and remove the screw at the bottom of the door pillar trim.

First, remove the interior trim if necessary to access the striker nut.

Install the nut plate, then the washer, followed by the spacer, and finally the striker.

Separate the water deflector at the perforations using a sharp-bladed tool if necessary.

Finally, reinstall the water deflector and the trim panel.

Position the new striker on the door with the narrow part of the wedge plate pointing toward the rear of the vehicle.

Rotate the lower striker bolt until the upper threaded hole is properly aligned, then remove the lower bolt.

Finally, install the bolts that retain the lock striker and tighten them to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

Take out the bolts that secure the striker to the roof panel and then remove the striker and shim(s) from the roof panel.

Take out the two bolts that secure the lower striker to the stepwell.

Follow the fastener notice in service precautions.

Install the new door lock striker into the door opening.

Take out the door lock striker from the door opening.

Take out the three bolts that secure the rear door upper striker to the door opening.

Ensure the bolts are tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Ensure to tighten the retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the two bolts to secure the lower striker to the stepwell, tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Follow the Fastener Notice for proper guidance.

First, remove the bolts that secure the door lock striker to the door opening.

Install the new door lock striker into the door opening.

Remove the striker from the door opening.

First, remove the bolts that secure the striker to the door.

Ensure the bolts are tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Ensure to tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Take out the three bolts that secure the rear door upper striker to the door opening.

Position the door lock striker back into the door opening and install the bolts to secure it, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice.

Reinstall the rear door opening frame garnish molding.

Follow the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Take out the door lock striker.

Install the bolts to secure the door lock striker in place and tighten the retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Remove the bolts that secure the striker to the door opening.

The bolts should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

Remove the lower bolt and rotate the striker and the spacer (if equipped) to align the lower threaded hole in the striker backing plate.

Rotate the striker and the spacer (if equipped) to align the lower threaded hole, then install the front door lower striker bolt followed by the rear lower striker bolt.

Remove the two bolts that secure the rear door lower striker to the floor panel.

Use the J 29843-9 TORX(R) Bit (Bit Size T47) to remove the striker bolt.

Take out the two bolts that secure the rear storage compartment, if equipped.

Remove the side door stepwell mat.

First, remove the bolts that secure the door lock striker to the door opening.

Remove the striker itself.

Position the side door upper striker back into the door opening.

Hold the nut to prevent it from falling into the body pillar.

First, remove the bolts that secure the door lock striker to the door opening.

Hold the nut while removing the door striker.

Use the Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx Wrench (J 29843-9) to remove the door striker.

Position the new striker onto the door, ensuring the narrow part of the wedge plate points toward the rear of the vehicle.

Begin by removing the right hand body side trim panel.

Ensure it is secured with the three bolts, tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Take out the door lock striker.

Take out the two bolts that secure the lower striker to the stepwell.

First, remove the bolts that secure the striker.

Install the rear door lower striker back onto the floor panel, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice for proper installation.

Remove the upper striker bolt, the spacer (if equipped), and the striker.

Take out the lower door striker.

Install the new door lock striker onto the left rear door.

Take out the two bolts that secure the lower striker to the stepwell.

Remove the side door stepwell mat.
