2003 GMC Safari Door Striker Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear sliding door striker on 2003 GMC Safari?
A: Installation of the rear sliding door striker begins by taking out the right hand body side trim panel. First detach the two bolts retaining the rear storage area from the vehicle before unfastening the rear striker mounts. You should remove the striker together with its spacer , washer and nut plate one by one. You should start by installing the nut plate followed by the washer and spacer then place the striker into position. The striker bolts need installation followed by application of a torque setting at 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the right hand body side trim panel as the last step.
