2007 GMC Savana 3500 Transmission Oil Cooler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler on a 4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E automatic transmission on 2007 GMC Savana 3500?
A: Start the replacement of a 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic Transmission Oil Cooler by removing the grille assembly before placing a drain pan underneath the vehicle. First disconnect the Transmission Oil Cooler lines from the auxiliary Oil Cooler before removing the Oil Cooler lines. The procedure involves first removing the 4 bolts which fasten the auxiliary Oil Cooler to the radiator support before taking the cooler out. The installation process requires you to mount the Oil Cooler onto the radiator support using four bolts with a torque of 10 n.m which is equivalent to 89 lb in. Tighten the Oil Cooler lines to the auxiliary Oil Cooler using 23 n.m torque (17 lb ft). After draining the reserve fluid place the drain pan aside before putting back the grille assembly.
