How to Replace the Fuel Level Sensor in a Regular Cab with a 34 Gal Tank on 2007 GMC Sierra 1500?

To switch the Fuel Level Sensor with a regular cab with 34 gal tank, remove the Fuel Tank and disconnect the fuel feed pipe and evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fittings from the Fuel Tank module, and then relocate the pipes out of the way. In order to remove the Fuel Tank module lock ring use the j 45722 and rotate it counterclockwise with a long breaker bar until the appropriate piece could be removed properly while ensuring not to damage the lock ring and avoiding impact tools. Gently raise the module with the float arm of the Fuel Level Sensor just showing up to avoid bending the float arm during removal. Dispose of the fuel from the module reservoir bucket to an approved container and do not reuse the used Fuel Tank module o-ring seal. Check the lock ring for damage. If warpage is more than 0.41mm (0.016"), replace it. Install a new Fuel Tank module o-ring seal to the Fuel Tank, tilting the module to clear the float arm before lowering it into the tank. Place and fit the Fuel Tank module lock ring ensuring it is oriented to turn clockwise. Secure the ring using the j 45722, reattach the fuel and evap pipes to the component, and then return the Fuel Tank to its former position.
