How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2008 Buick LaCrosse?

You should initiate the process by taking off the rear compartment carpet and opening the rear area. Trace the position of the rear compartment lid latch onto the lid surface using a grease marker. Detach the electrical wiring from the rear compartment lid latch and also disconnect the lock cylinder actuator cable from its connection. Take off the bolts holding the rear compartment lid latch and take it out of its position on the lid. To install the rear compartment lid latch place it at the marks on the lid surface. Fasten the new rear compartment lid latch with nuts at 10 N.m torque setting. Reattach electrical cables to the system and lock cylinder handle. Complete the procedure by placing the rear compartment lid carpet back in position then closing the compartment.
