How to replace the air filter on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

In order to change the air filter, splash shields which are air cleaner housing assemblies should be removed. Turn the latches of the housing open, uncover the covers, and remove the filter. Wipe out any debris inside the housing, fit the filter and covers again with the latches and splash shields attached where necessary.
