2008 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the water pump on LLV - 2.9L and LLR - 3.7L engines on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Start engine Water Pump replacement work by draining the cooling system of llv - 2.9l and llr - 3.7l engines. Disassemble the Water Pump installation by taking out the fan and the Drive Belt. Before putting on the Water Pump with its gasket, use the j 46406 to support the Water Pump Pulley when you remove its bolts and then take off both the pulley and Water Pump bolts. Start by adding the new Water Pump Gasket and placing the Water Pump on the engine. Tighten the Water Pump bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Put the Water Pump Pulley back in place and secure it using j 46406 then tighten its bolts to 25 n.m under 18 lb ft force. Replace the Drive Belt and fan assembly when you put back the j 41240 component. Filling should begin with correct coolant and concentration before checking for leakages.
