How to replace the water pump (LL8) on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
First drain coolant before you remove the fan and shroud then the Drive Belt to access the Water Pump (LL8). Install the j 41240 fan clutch remover and installer tool to hold the Water Pump Pulley in position. Thread out bolts of the Water Pump Pulley and take off the j 41240 along with the pulley. Begin by unwinding Water Pump bolts before pulling it out the unit. Check and sanitize the Water Pump before replacing its gasket when needed. Place a fresh Water Pump Gasket before setting the Water Pump in place and fastening it with the bolts. Tighten the bolts to 4 nm on the first pass followed by 10 nm on the last turn. Insert the j 41240 between the pulley and Water Pump to secure the component before screwing the bolts tight to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.), then remove the j 41240. Complete the system by putting the Drive Belt back on and setting up the fan and shroud afterward. Add recommended coolant to the system and test it for leaks first.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair a Water Pump on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
After draining coolant you need to take off the fan and Drive Belt to access the Water Pump. The j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) tool holds the Water Pump Pulley tight so you can remove the Water Pump Pulley bolts. Once you have the Water Pump Pulley and bolts loose you can smoothly take the pump away. Remove the worn Water Pump and test its parts for defects. Put a fresh Water Pump Gasket in place then placing the pump onto the engine block and bolt it down with 10 nm torque. Fix the Water Pump Pulley on its base using metal tool j 46406 and fasten it to the unit with bolt tightening at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Add the Drive Belt and fan after uninstalling the j 41240. Add proper coolant to the cooling system along with its recommended concentration then verify if any fluid leaks appear.

    Q:
How to replace a water pump on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Draining the cooling system first helps you remove both the fan and the Drive Belt for Water Pump replacement. With the j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) tool you need to fasten the Water Pump Pulley and remove all Water Pump Pulley bolts before removing the j 46406 unit. Extract the Water Pump from its location by first pulling off the Water Pump Pulley and removing the Water Pump bolts plus gasket. After placing the new gasket under the Water Pump put it exactly where it belongs on the engine then tighten all Water Pump bolts to 10 n.m of torque (89 pounds of inch). Fasten the Water Pump Pulley onto its bolts and keep it stable during tightening with the j 46406 tool at a torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Replace the j 41240 part and add the Drive Belt plus fan afterward. Finally fill the cooling system with recommended coolant and check for fluid leaks.

    Q:
How to replace the auxiliary water pump on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step in replacing the auxiliary Water Pump starts with draining part of the cooling system. The next step is to take out the air cleaner assembly for cars with an l6 engine while the v8 engine vehicles need their air conditioning accumulator removed. Control the front heater inlet hose with hose clamp pliers j 38185 to adjust the clamp position before detaching the hose from the auxiliary heater Water Pump. Control the top heater inlet hose with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and separate the top heater inlet hose from its position. Take out the auxiliary heater Water Pump after removing its electrical connector and two bracket retaining nuts. Unclip the bracket parts and disconnect the Water Pump from its housing. First fasten the auxiliary heater Water Pump onto the bracket using the supplied retaining clips. Place the pump inside the vehicle and tighten its bracket locking nuts to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.), then attach the electrical connector. Putting the top heater inlet hose into place and fixing the clamp through the assistance of hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Secure the new front heater inlet hose with hose clamp pliers (J38185) before putting its clamp into position. Put back our l6 engine users' air cleaner assembly while v8 engine owners place the air conditioning accumulator back in its place and refill their cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace the water pump on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Water Pump involves draining the cooling system. Open the clamps on the Throttle Body air duct and maf/iat sensor before removing the outlet duct bolt and duct. Disassemble the 5.3l/6.0l engine's accessory drive belt tensioner before taking out the cooling fan and shroud. With j 38185 hose clamp pliers in hand you can shift the inlet hose clamp at the Water Pump and extract the inlet hose. Shift the outlet hose clamp to the side and disconnect both ends of the outlet hose. Also detach the auxiliary heater inlet and outlet hose/pipe nut. Use the j 38185 hose clamp pliers to shift the Throttle Body clamp before taking the hose away from its connection. Eliminate the Water Pump accessory heater hose clamps and take off the inlet and outlet tubes from their positions. Take out the Water Pump from its bolts and discard both gaskets along with the Water Pump itself. New bolts and gaskets must be installed to the Water Pump along with new gaskets before tightening the bolts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) first and then to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) on the final pass. Position and tighten the auxiliary heater hose/pipe nut to 10 n.m until you secure it then attach both ends of the hose to the Throttle Body and inlet/outlet end. Reverse the steps to install Water Pump inlet and outlet hoses while moving the auxiliary heater hose clamps between their correct positions first. Put back the cooling fan assembly and shroud plus replace the accessory belt tensioner. Secure the air cleaner outlet sidepipe bolt and Throttle Body clamps with torque to 10 n.m (89 lb in) along with maf/iat sensor clamps at 7 n.m (62 lb in). Finally, fill the cooling system.
