How to replace the Parking Brake Cable Front on 2008 Chevrolet Equinox?

Before starting the Parking Brake Front Cable replacement it is necessary to disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Proceed to remove the front floor console next. The released position of the park brake lever allows you to use hand tools only when removing both the park brake cable adjusting nut and washer. Free the rear park brake cable ends from the cable equalizer on the front cable before detaching the front park brake cable from the park brake lever by pulling it toward the rear. The front park brake cable should be installed by connecting it to the park brake lever while the rear cable ends must be attached to the cable equalizer. Set up ONLY hand tools for installing a new washer together with the NEW adjusting nut to the front park brake cable and fine-tune its tension accordingly. To finish up reinstall the front floor console as well enable the SIR system operation.
