The process to replace the fuel tank filler pipe requires you to begin with cleaning both all fuel pipe and hose connectors together with their surrounding regions to stop fuel system contamination. The fuel filler cap should be removed to drain fuel until it reaches the same height as the fill hose inside the fuel tank. First disconnect the filler neck from its body mounting by removing both retaining bolts and push-pin and raise the vehicle. The replacement of the fuel tank filler pipe with the rear tank begins by unbolting the fuel filler tube ground strap and loosening the fuel fill hose clamp before disconnecting the fuel fill hose from the fill pipe. Dispose of the fuel fill pipe unit before continuing. When attaching the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill hose maintain the proper alignment with the fuel fill pipe housing before torquing the clamp to 2.75 n.m (24 lb in). Place the fuel filler tube ground strap bolt before tightening it to 8 n.m (70 lb in). The vehicle should then be lowered to its normal position. Reinstall the fuel filler cap after filling the tank and properly tighten all fuel fill pipe housing bolts to 6 n.m (53 lb in) together with push-pin installation.
