The first step to replace the Fuel Filler Hose on a regular cab with a 26 gal tank involves removing the Fuel Tank filler housing to body torx(R) screws and pushpin retainer . Then remove the bolts that connect the Fuel Tank filler housing to the Fuel Tank fill pipe. The vehicle should be raised halfway before removing the Fuel Tank filler housing for support. Start the Fuel Tank filler hose replacement by removing the ground wire bolt from the Fuel Tank fill pipe and disconnecting the anti-rotation tab from the frame hole. Next proceed by moving the Fuel Tank fill pipe ground wire along with the chassis harness ground wire followed by opening and removing the rear axle vent hose from its clip on the fuel fill pipe bracket. Open the Fuel Tank to disconnect the fuel fill pipe recirculation line quick connect fitting from the evap rear hose and loosen the Fuel Tank fill pipe clamp at the Fuel Tank before removing the Fuel Tank fill pipe that requires a cap for its opening to prevent contamination. To install the Fuel Tank fill pipe begin by taking the Fuel Tank opening cap out and positioning the Fuel Tank fill pipe before tightening the Fuel Tank fill pipe clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Lower the vehicle and attach the Fuel Tank filler housing using the Fuel Tank fill pipe bolts which should be tightened to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). Top off the installation by affixing the Fuel Tank filler housing to body torx(R) screws and pushpin retainer while torquing them down to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in).
