    A: In order to replace the steering gear boot off the vehicle the outer tie rod has to be removed first and then the Rack And Pinion gear. Every boot parts need replacement when replacing the inner tie rod. Usage of side cutters to remove the small seal retaining clamp and a large seal retaining clamp from the Rack and Pinion Boot without cutting the end of the boot or putting screwdriver between boot and tie rod. Check the inner tie rod for corrosion or contamination after removing the boot; in case there's no one, complete the repair after receiving the agreement. Using a good firm grip, pull the rack pinion boot from the gear and dispose of it. For installation, rub with grease the inside of the Rack and Pinion Boot ribs and the application of the new large seal retaining clamp on to the boot . Fit the boot over the inner Tie Rod End, positioning the arrows on the boot with the range on the gear housing. Next, set up the new small seal retaining clamp over the boot and slide the boot into the center of the gear assembly tying it into the inner retaining groove, making sure it is not twisted or puckered. Crimp the large seal retaining clamp on boot and the small seal retaining clamp to the inner tie rod assembly using the j 22610 keystone clamp pliers (J 22610). Finally, reinstall the rack and pin ion gear and an outer tie rod.
