2008 Chevrolet Uplander Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the shock absorber on 2008 Chevrolet Uplander?
A: Start by lifting the vehicle with a frame-contact vehicle lift so you can safely replace the strut assembly. Strut replacement must be done without using a suspension-contact lift. Start by removing the tire and wheel and then remove the wiper module. Start by taking out the upper strut nuts followed by marking the strut to the knuckle and then disassembling the lower strut bolts and nuts to remove the entire strut. The installation process starts with the strut placement before torqueing the upper strut nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). For both strut lower bolts and nuts tighten while both components should remain clean of rust and develop 3 N.m (27 lb in) torque against each other until proper seating happens. if not, replace the fastener. Align the strut to the knuckle mark before tightening the lower strut nuts with 112 N.m (83 lb ft) of torque. Put the wiper module back in place before reinstalling the tire and wheel and check the vehicle alignment afterward.
