2008 GMC Envoy Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2008 GMC Envoy?
A: Begin replacement of the Brake Master Cylinder by setting the parking brake first then disconnecting both the fluid level sensor connector and brake pipes from the master cylinder. Brake fluid loss can be avoided when you put rubber caps onto brake hose ends after installation. Take off the mounting nuts from the master cylinder assembly and the master cylinder by draining its brake fluid first. Before putting on the master cylinder you should drain the brake fluid from the master cylinder and do a bleeding process with it. Fasten the master cylinder securing nuts by tightening them to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Attach the brake pipes to their spaces while tightening their fittings to 32 n.m (24 lb ft). Connect the master cylinder fluid level sensor last and perform hydraulic brake system bleeding tests.
