    A: Replacement of lash adjusters (209, 219) in lh6, lmg, ly5 and l76 requires removal of both the Cylinder Head and gasket prior to continuation. First remove the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) with Lash Adjuster guides (210) and adjusters while recording guide positioning since the guide has a notched area that corresponds with the locating tab on the engine block. Move the lash adjusters from their position on the guide while carefully keeping the active fuel management adjuster's notched area in line with the guide's raised surface area. The components need to be organized for their original locations while the lash adjusters require cleaning and inspection for needed repairs. Clean engine oil should be used both to lubricate the lash adjusters and engine block Lash Adjuster bores before inserting the adjusters into their guides while maintaining correct alignments between the flat areas and notches. Install the lash adjusters with their guide (210) to the engine block before tightening the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Seal the repair by reinstalling the Cylinder Head and gasket.
