How to replace the ignition lock cylinder on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

In order to change lock cylinder of the ignition switch, one must disconnect battery negative cable and take out steering column shroud. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the RUN position then press the retainer to take it out. Install the new cylinder using the RUN position and ensure it is rotating, reconnect the shroud, and battery cable.
