2009 Chevrolet Aveo Wheel Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear wheel cylinder on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Support the vehicle correctly before lifting it. Remove and mark the wheel position relative to its hub while taking off both rear wheels. Before the next step remove both the Brake Drum and its shoe plus lining assembly. Take out all foreign elements and dirt before removing the Wheel Cylinder Brake Line and putting the opening off to prevent fluid loss or contamination. Take care with brake fluid since it can harm eyes and skin; flush eyes with water right away and wash with soap and water for skin contact while seeking doctor guidance for swallowed fluid. Use a soft tool to push out the Wheel Cylinder from the backing plate while staying away from the bleeder valve and its cap. Mount the Wheel Cylinder onto the backing plate with the Wheel Cylinder bolt secured at 8 nm (71 lb in) and join the Brake Line to the Wheel Cylinder with its torque set to 16 nm (12 lb ft). Put back all brake components including the drum and start bleeding the brake system.
