How to replace the fuel filler hose on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Draining the Fuel Tank is the first step needed to replace the Fuel Tank filler pipe. First drain the Fuel Tank before removing both fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing bolts and the fuel fill pocket. Support the vehicle at a height before removing the lower bolt that attaches the fuel fill pipe. First disconnect the ventilating quick connects (1, 3) of the Fuel Tank and loosen the tank clamp for the fuel filling hose before removing the fuel hose from the tank and the pipe from the vehicle. Install the fuel fill pipe hose on the Fuel Tank after securing the fuel fill pipe into its proper vehicle position. Tighten the Fuel Tank hose clamp sold together with the fuel fill pipe to 4.5 nm (40 lb in) before attaching quick connect fittings to the Fuel Tank vent pipe (1, 3). You must first engage the lower fuel fill pipe bolt then establish its torque at 10 nm (89 lb in). Afterward you can lower the vehicle. Secure the fuel fill pocket as well as the fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing bolts by tightening them to 1.5 nm (13 lb in). Complete the task by refilling the Fuel Tank before securing the fuel fill cap.
