2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: The first step to replacing an air conditioning accumulator demands that you recover the refrigerant. The electrical connector from the a/c pressure switch needs disconnection for removal of the a/c low pressure switch. Start by removing the accumulator-to-evaporator retaining nut followed by uninstalling the compressor suction hose assembly from the accumulator. Before removing the accumulator from the vehicle operators must first discard the o-ring sealand loosen the accumulator clamp nut. When adding a new accumulator to your system you should follow the appropriate compressor design specifications to determine its appropriate refrigerant oil loading amount. Place the accumulator inside the vehicle before tightening it into position with the accumulator clamp. Tighten the accumulator clamp nut to 10 nm (88 lb in) while the a/c low pressure switch needs tightening to 5 nm (44 lb in). Under a similar process, attach the accumulator to the Evaporator where the retaining nut reaches a torque value of 28 nm (21 lb ft). Secure the suction hose to the accumulator then apply a torque of 48 nm (35 lb ft) on the suction hose nut. Rehook the electrical connector to the a/c low pressure switch while completing a vacuum and pressure cycle on the a/c system. The j 39400-a halogen leak detector detects any possible leaks from settings on component fittings during this step.
