2009 GMC Envoy Intake Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2009 GMC Envoy?
A: Begin installation of a new Intake Manifold by first disconnecting the battery's negative terminal. Use proper procedures to drain fuel pressure before removing the Throttle Body. Start by removing the powertrain control module (PCM) retaining bolts and nuts before disconnecting the fuel feed pipe from the Fuel Rail. Remove the integral clip from the wire harness bracket while you detach the engine wire harness bracket bolt and disconnect both electrical harnesses and vacuum lines from the Intake Manifold. The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector together with the crankcase ventilation hose and the vacuum brake booster hose at the Intake Manifold require complete disconnection. Maintain the Intake Manifold bolts in place as they are trapped inside the generator which needs removal. You must loosen before taking out the Intake Manifold. To build the intake you must first position a fresh Intake Manifold Gasket on the Intake Manifold before securing it with bolts that require 10 nm (89 lb in) of torque. Install the generator first then connect the vacuum brake booster hose while lubricating the inner crankcase ventilation hose before final installation. Follow these installation steps: first attach the MAP Sensor electrical connector then install the electrical harness before fixing the vacuum lines to the Intake Manifold. Tighten the engine electrical harness bracket bolt to 10 nm (89 lb in). Set the integral clip onto the wire harness bracket before attaching the fuel feed pipe to the Fuel Rail. Attach the pcm mounting studs to the Intake Manifold at 6 nm (53 lb in) torque setting. Place the pcm onto these studs before installing retaining bolts and nuts to 8 nm (71 lb in). Reconnect pcm harness connectors while tightening retaining bolts to 8 nm (71 lb in). Then reinstall the Throttle Body and restore the negative Battery Cable. Verify leaks by activating the ignition with the engine power off for two seconds before switching it off for ten seconds then repeating the process to examine fuel leaking points.
