The replacement of an outer Tie Rod in a steering linkage requires raising and suitable supporting the vehicle. Begin the task by removing the tire and wheel followed by the nut which attaches the outer Tie Rod to the Steering Knuckle. Users can disconnect the outer Tie Rod from the Steering Knuckle through the use of j 24319-b steering linkage and Tie Rod puller. Check the Tie Rod shaft for threading damage and perform cleaning duties on the Steering Knuckle tapered surface before removing the inner Tie Rod from its jam nut. You need to coat the inner Tie Rod threads with a suitable chassis lubricant just before putting in the outer Tie Rod. The outer Tie Rod requires installation on the inner Tie Rod while leaving the jam nut loose for now. Service technicians should install the Steering Knuckle retaining nut before tightening it to 63 nm (47 lb ft). The tire and wheel must be installed after which the vehicle needs to be lowered while you adjust the front toe setting.
