How to replace the shift cable on 2009 GMC Savana 3500?

In order to remove the Shift Cable, make sure that the steering column shift lever is pushed to park. Take the knee bolster trim panel and bracket off, take off the shift cable, and reach inside the grommet. Unscrew the old cable, screw in the new cable and screw everything in place. Tilter the cable and replace the trim panel.
