The first step for replacing the exhaust Muffler heat shield requires complete removal of the Muffler assembly. Begin by removing the exhaust Muffler front heat shield nuts until you can take off its heat shield. The subsequent step in the replacement process includes removing both exhaust Muffler heat shield nuts and the exhaust Muffler heat shield. Position the exhaust Muffler heat shield on the floor panel while installing it and use exhaust Muffler heat shield nuts that should be tightened to 9 nm (80 lb in). Install the exhaust Muffler front heat shield to the floor panel followed by the front heat shield nuts at 9 nm (80 lb in). Finally, reinstall the Muffler assembly.
