- Q: How to replace the Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly for Bank 2 (LF1) on 2010 Buick LaCrosse?A: You should start by reducing pressure from the fuel system to replace fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly for bank 2 (LF1). The first step is to take off the fuel pipe shield followed by the Intake Manifold then the fuel feed intermediate pipe. The following step requires removal of the Cylinder Head. Next step is to use en-49248 (Injector Rail Assembly Remover) along with removing the Fuel Rail and injectors as an assembly following Fuel Rail bolt extraction. The direct Fuel Injector hold down clamps should be discarded because service is required for all direct fuel injectors that get released from Fuel Rail or Cylinder Head. Rebuilding the fuel injectors becomes the subsequent step after Fuel Rail extraction. The installer should position the Fuel Rail and injectors into the Cylinder Head evenly before tightening the outer Fuel Rail bolts by hand and then finishing with hand-tightening the rest of the Fuel Rail bolts. Begin by torquing each bank 1 Fuel Rail bolt to 12 nm (106 lb in) followed by a second and final torque to 23 nm (17 lb ft). The installation requires the fuel feed intermediate pipe plus Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector assembly and fuel leak checks through ignition on/off procedures. Check for fuel leaks and then apply the foam insulator to the fuel rails followed by the installation of the Intake Manifold and fuel pipe shield and Cylinder Head. Put on the low side fuel pressure service port cap followed by installation of the fuel tank cap.
