- Q: How to replace the starter motor on a V6 engine on 2010 Buick Lucerne?A: In order to replace the v6 Starter motor, disconnect the negative Battery Cable first. Then, take out the torque converter cover. Thereafter, remove the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut from the Starter motor, positive Battery Cable terminal, and engine harness terminal. Remove the transmission brace and disconnect the Starter motor electrical connector. Next, you need to remove the Starter bolts and download the Starter. For installation, the Starter motor must be installed to the engine, and Starter bolts are installed, tightening them to 43 nm (32 lb ft). If desired, install the transmission brace , connect the Starter-Starter motor electrical connector , hook up the engine harness terminal and positive batter cable positive Battery Cable terminal to the Starter placing positive Battery Cable terminal anti-rotation feature correctly. Install the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut and bolt it with 10 nm (89 lb in) and reinstall the torque converter covers. Lastly, hook up the negative cable from the battery again.
