2010 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the positive battery cable on 2010 Buick Lucerne?
A: The surge tank should be taken off first when replacing the positive Battery Cable. Start the process by taking off the negative cable and removing the car floor mats from the front and back region. Start by loosening the positive Battery Cable nut followed by disconnected separation of the cable between itself and the battery terminal. The cable retainer at the floor pan stud must be uninstalled before removing the nut securing the positive Battery Cable to the junction block stud as well as the terminal at the junction block stud. You need to remove the positive Battery Cable retainer attached to the rocker panel followed by the retainers together with clips from the body harness channel and dash mat. The technician should first open the lock tabs on junction block cover then detach the cover from its location. Detach the starter solenoid cable from the bussed electrical center (BEC) through its nut before removing the cable and positive Battery Cable from the bec stud. Move the positive Battery Cable grommet out of its seat at the dash front before using care to pass the cable through the dash opening until it exits beyond the vehicle frame. During installation start by placing the new positive Battery Cable through the dash opening and afterward mount its grommet to the dash front. The first process involves clamping positive battery clips onto the side engine compartment before attaching the positive Battery Cable to the bec stud then finally the starter solenoid cable. Fasten the starter solenoid cable by tightening its nut to 15 nm (11 lb ft). The workers should put the junction block cover back while setting the dash mat flap into its proper location. The positive Battery Cable clip needs installation on the dash mat with subsequent attachment of clips and retainers to the body harness. Attach the positive Battery Cable retainer onto the rocker panel before connecting it to the junction block stud where you should tighten the nut at 15 nm (11 lb ft). Fasten the positive Battery Cable on the battery after tightening the nut until it reaches 15 nm (11 lb ft). The last step requires connecting the negative Battery Cable while putting back the carpet and surge tank.
