How to service the exhaust hangers on 2010 Cadillac CTS?

Service inspection of exhaust hangers requires you to put the vehicle on a lift for support. A non-petroleum based lubrication should be applied both to the hanger rods and insulators to make the removal process easier. The service starts with removing the muffler insulator from both rear suspension hanger rod and muffler hanger rod. The service procedure starts with taking off tail pipe insulators from body support hanger rods and muffler hanger rods. Non-petroleum based lubricant application is needed to both insulators and hanger rods before installation can be performed. Place the rubber pieces known as tail pipe insulators onto the hanger rods that fit the tail pipe hanger rods while also covering the bracket rods under the body support. Place the muffler insulator both on the muffler hanger rod and the rear suspension hanger rod . Review both underbody clearance and tail pipe alignment in the finishing steps.
