How to replace the canister purge valves on 2010 Cadillac DTS?

The Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve replacement process starts by taking off the fuel injector sight shield. Start by disconnecting the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve followed by electrical connector removal from the engine harness. First uninstall the bolt holding the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve before extracting the valve itself. Install a NEW O-ring before placing the new EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. First install the replacement valve then use the bolt to fasten it before securing it to 10 Nm (89 lb ft). Reattach the engine harness electrical connector to the valve before connecting the quick connect fitting of the EVAP pipe. Complete the replacement by placing back the fuel injector sight shield.
