The first step to replace the floor Shift Knob involves setting the parking brake and powering down the engine into neutral position. Physical strength will be necessary for separating the Shift Knob from the shift lever because you should not twist the knob when you pull it. To disconnect the Shift Knob from the shift lever properly push it straight up by a firm grip of the knob. The installation requires the Shift Knob to be aligned with the shift lever followed by a firm downward press which will produce an audible sound signaling complete insertion of the internal clip. To complete the process you must place the transmission in park and drop the parking brake.
