The first step for replacing the air conditioning Evaporator tube requires a proper recovery process for refrigerant. Start by removing both the upper radiator air baffle and deflector before taking off the air cleaner assembly. Remove the surge tank hold down nut and bolt by disconnecting it from the cooling system. The Evaporator tube nut should be detached from the Evaporator before the tube can separate from both the Evaporator and the Evaporator. You need to unravel the Evaporator tube nut that links the auxiliary a/c tube from its installation point before disconnecting both fittings. Move the Evaporator tube nut from the condenser then detach both the Evaporator tube sections from each other before removing the Evaporator tube from the vehicle. All used sealing washers need replacement and every open connection requires capping. To install the system the Evaporator tube must connect to the condenser through new sealing washers before tightening the Evaporator tube nut to 16 nm (12 lb ft). First install new sealing washers before linking the Evaporator tube to the auxiliary a/c tube and tighten the Evaporator tube nut to 16 nm (12 lb ft). Secure the Evaporator tube to the Evaporator by using a nut which should be tightened to 16 nm (12 lb ft). First reinstall the surge tank hold down bolt and nut and then install the air cleaner assembly before installing the upper radiator components. The system evacuation and recharging process must happen finally with a j 39400-a halogen leak detector to inspect the fittings of all components.
