Users need to disconnect the HO2S electrical connector from its position on the engine wiring harness electrical connector after removing the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. Carefully remove the HO2S . The HO2S threads require application of anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or equivalent during installation because special anti-seize compound with liquid graphite and glass beads helps sensor removal. When installing the HO2S sensor you must tighten it to 42 Nm (31 lb ft) torque. Begin by connecting the HO2S electrical connector to the engine wiring harness electrical connector then install the CPA retainer and finally lower the vehicle.
