  A: The first step for replacing the Intake Manifold without afm starts by removing the air cleaner outlet duct and generator. First detach the engine harness retainer nut then pull out the engine harness retainer which is located between the stud and locator pin. The work requires removal of electrical connectors between the engine harness and the evap canister purge solenoid , manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor , ignition coil harness , left side fuel injectors , throttle actuator , engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor , and right side fuel injectors . Gather engine harness branches then secure them above clearance with clips number 4 and number 6 while removing them from their mounting positions. Secure the brake booster vacuum hose to the Intake Manifold by releasing its clamp while disconnecting the hose from the booster fitting. Unplug the evap canister purge valve and fuel feed line quick connector. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and loosen the Intake Manifold bolts (512) before taking out the Intake Manifold (500) while using cylinders head passage covers to avoid debris entry. Begin by removing the Intake Manifold gaskets (514) and if you replace the manifold you must relocate the brake booster vacuum hose clamp then remove the vacuum hose from the Intake Manifold nipple along with the upper Intake Manifold cover and MAP Sensor. Remove the Throttle Body with Fuel Rail along with its gasket while discarding lower o-ring seals from the fuel injectors by disconnecting the evap tube quick connect fitting. Installation requires connecting the new manifold with the brake booster vacuum hose nipple and replacing the Fuel Injector lower o-ring seals with fresh ones then lubricating them with clean engine oil before Fuel Rail installation using 10 nm of torque (89 lb in). Use a new Throttle Body Gasket along with the Throttle Body and its bolts/nuts before installing the evap tube and purge solenoid. Lubricate the MAP Sensor seal while connecting the evap tube quick connect fitting before installing both elements. Reinstall both the upper Intake Manifold cover with its nut along with the brake booster vacuum hose while also equipping the new Intake Manifold gaskets (514).
