Detach the engine harness electrical connector from the generator terminal before relocating the positive cable boot to the generator terminal. Use a wrench to uninstall the generator's positive Battery Cable terminal and positive Battery Cable nut. Commence by removing the idler pulley bolt followed by the idler pulley then proceed to take off the generator bolts. The generator extraction process occasionally requires vehicle maneuvering to pull it out completely. Locate the generator where it needs to sit on the engine and apply gentle torque to generator bolts during installation. Fasten the new idler pulley after which you should tighten the generator bolts to 58 nm (43 lb ft) using the prescribed order. The installation process includes placing the Drive Belt then connecting the engine harness electrical connector to the generator before attaching the positive Battery Cable terminal to the generator. Fasten the generator nut for the positive Battery Cable by tightening it to 15 nm (11 lb ft) then relocate the positive Battery Cable boot to the generator terminal. Reconnect the negative Battery Cable during the final procedure.
