2010 Cadillac STS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front coolant reservoir on 2010 Cadillac STS?
A: Draining coolant represents the first step before replacing the Coolant Reservoir. After disconnecting the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector place it to the side. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to free and relocate the reservoir outlet hose clamp before unconnecting the reservoir outlet hose. The hose clamp process begins again with pliers (J 38185) to release and reset the reservoir inlet hose clamp before separating the reservoir inlet hose. Start by disconnecting the low coolant sensor electrical connector to remove the reservoir from the system. Reinstall the reservoir while also connecting its low coolant sensor electrical connector for installation. Screw in the reservoir nut until it achieves 9 nm torque (80 lb in) then tighten its corresponding bolt to the same torque specification. Before installation place clean coolant on the inside diameter of each hose and use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to fasten the reservoir inlet hose. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to install the hose connectors between the reservoir outlet and secure the outlet with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Reconnect both the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector then complete the cooling system filling process.
