  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
    A: To replace the Clutch Master Cylinder, one must first unplug the negative Battery Cable. Take out the left instrument panel lower insulator panel as well as the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer and the Clutch Master Cylinder rod from the clutch pedal. Then, take out the windshield washer solvent container and lift the vehicle from the appropriate height. Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder hose from the hose retaining clip underneath the Brake Master Cylinder followed by the removal of the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip after which the Clutch Hose is then separated from the Clutch Master Cylinder connection, ensuring that by all means the two ends of the hose coupling ends are protected from dirt and damage respectively. Lower down the vehicle ensuring that it remains on the hoist, remove the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir from the reservoir bracket. Rotate the Clutch Master Cylinder 45 degrees and then let it go off the dash panel while removing both the Clutch Master Cylinder and reservoir from the vehicle. For installation, locate the Clutch Master Cylinder and reservoir and have the master cylinder sloping at a 45-degree angle before installing to the dash panel. Put back on the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir onto the reservoir bracket and reinstall the windshield washer solvent container. Lift the vehicle once more and fit the claw hose connection retaining clip, making sure that the clutch hydraulic hose quick connect fittings are seated. Check the clutch hydraulic hoses for any twists or kinks and attach the clutch actuator cylinder hose to the Clutch Master Cylinder hose and clamp it to the hose retaining clip under the Brake Master Cylinder. Lower down the vehicle and the proceed installing the Clutch Master Cylinder rod to the clutch pedal and hold it in firm position using the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer. Rearrange the left instrument panel lower insulator panel; join the negative Battery Cable, securing the bolt to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Finally, set up the transmitters and bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
