The timing chain tensioner can be changed by unattaching the negative battery cable, and taking out the camshaft cover along with the tensioner. Check and change the damaged parts. Clean tensioner body, fit compressed piston assembly and remove all the debris. Lastly, fit the tensioner assembly, disengage it, and re-fit battery.
