A: Prevent damage to electrical connector pins and nozzles during replacement while avoiding all types of immersion treatment for the Fuel Injector since it acts as an electrical part that could be destroyed. Leaking fuel injectors will result in fuel contamination of engine oil. First remove all components belonging to the Fuel Rail assembly. Understanding the need to remove the Fuel Injector retainer clip with connector while taking the Fuel Injector from the Fuel Rail. Destruction of the Fuel Injector O-Ring seals type 2 and 3 is necessary. Check that the select injector is appropriate for the application because each Fuel Injector contains a stamp with a part number tag together with a 4-digit date code showing its manufacturing month and day along with the annual year and manufacturing shift. The new Fuel Injector O-Ring seals (2 and 3) require lubrication with mineral oil gm p/n 9981704 before their installation onto the Fuel Injector. The new retainer clip should be installed onto the Fuel Injector while its electrical connector oriented outward from the rail socket. Push the clip into the rail socket with the flange of the Fuel Rail injector socket to ensure complete locking. Finish the installation sequence by joining the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector to its place on the Fuel Injector before reinstalling the Fuel Rail assembly.
