How to replace the outer tie rod in the steering linkage on 2010 GMC Canyon?

Before starting the procedure for outer Tie Rod replacement in the steering linkage the vehicle needs to be elevated and supported. Detach the wheel and tire before removing the outer Tie Rod retaining nut which should be discarded. Installation of a wedge between the steering joint and attached part will prevent seal damage during this process. Flaring spanner tool j 24319-b should be used to detach the outer Tie Rod from the Steering Knuckle. You should detach the outer Tie Rod from the inner Tie Rod by loosening the jam nut before discarding it. Before adding the new jam nut to the outer Tie Rod apply a suitable chassis lubricant on the inner Tie Rod threads after cleaning the tapered surface of the Steering Knuckle. Start by fixing the outer Tie Rod piece to the inner Tie Rod followed by the Steering Knuckle attachment. New retaining nuts require installation to 45 nm (33 lb ft) torque followed by 95-degree angle then additional torque of 70 nm (52 lb ft) when installing the jam nut to the outer Tie Rod End. Install the tire then wheel before lowering the vehicle and performing front toe adjustment.
