The correct procedure to replace the Fuel Filler Hose on an extended cab with a 26 gal tank includes first removing Fuel Tank filler housing to body torx(R) screws and pushpin retainer followed by the bolts between Fuel Tank filler housing and Fuel Tank fill pipe. The next step involves shutting down the Fuel Tank filler housing followed by vehicle elevation to midway height. Begin by taking out the bolt that attaches the ground wire to the Fuel Tank fill pipe as well as the anti-rotation tab from the frame hole before repositioning both. The exhaust hose hook on the fuel fill pipe bracket needs to be opened so the back axle hose can be removed. Use a quick connect to remove the Fuel Tank evaporative emission line from the fuel fill pipe recirculation line. The Fuel Tank fill pipe requires loosening of the clamp before removing the pipe while capping the tank opening to prevent contamination. Install the Fuel Tank fill pipe by removing its cap from the Fuel Tank opening then tighten the clamp at 2.5 nm (22 lb in). In the next step link up the fuel fill pipe recirculation line to the Fuel Tank evap line quick connect fitting while attaching the rear axle vent hose to the clip which needs to be closed. Attach the Fuel Tank fill pipe ground wire to its frame bracket followed by inserting the anti-rotation tab into the frame hole and tighten the ground wire bolt to 9 nm (80 lb in). A technician must lower the car then put in position the Fuel Tank filler housing by attaching the bolts to the Fuel Tank fill pipe and torquing them to 2.3 nm (20 lb in). The last steps include installing torx(R) screws and pushpin retainers to the Fuel Tank filler housing before tightening these screws to 2.3 nm (20 lb in).
