  • Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on a 1500 on 2010 GMC Yukon?
    A: A driver must elevate their vehicle for maintenance before removing the wheel and tire to replace a Steering Knuckle in a 1500. The wheel drive shaft must be taken out of the vehicle when it is present in models 1500. Follow the procedure to eliminate the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly (2500). First disconnect the outer tie rod from the knuckle before unfastening the upper Control Arm together with the lower Control Arm from the knuckle. When servicing the lower Ball Joint exclude disconnecting the brake hose as well as all electrical components but keep the knuckle assembly secured to the side during knuckle removal from the vehicle. Ball joints must be installed at their proper positions beginning with the lower joint into the knuckle then the upper one. You should install the outer tie rod onto the knuckle before putting on the Wheel Bearing with hub assembly for 2500 models. Proceed with wheel drive shaft installation (1500) after which add the tire along with the wheel. Complete the installation by taking away the support system and dropping the vehicle before conducting a wheel alignment test.
